Cracking
By selecting the 'Cracking' option, you can view the main deflection-related phenomena related with the slab. Specifically these are:
To do this:
1. Open the "Results | Cracking" dialog box.
2. Select the load case athat you wish to view the results for.
3. In the 'Show box, select the aspect that you wish to view. If you wish to view the cracking pattern, you must also indicate the layer of the slab.
4. If you wish to view the structural displacement concurrently with the results, make sure the relevant box is checked. You may also wish to exaggerate the scale of the displacements to achieve a clearer impression of the behaviour of the structure during the analysis period. If so, enter a suitable scaling factor into the respective X, Y and Z boxes (5 or 10 usually gives a good result).
5. Select the Gauss points that you wish to see the results for. The 'Gauss Ponts' window is a representation of a single slab element with the 9 points represented by check-boxes. Simply ensure that the points you wish to see are checked before continuing.
6. Enter a scaling factor in the 'Scale' box. This option increases the size of line used to represent the cracks, stresses or membrane forces.
7. Using the slide bar, you can now view the phenomena of your choice at any time-step during the analysis.
