Analyse
Finally, the model may be analysed.
To do this:
1. Open the "Analysis | Analyse" dialog box.
2. Select the load case that you wish to be applied (in this case, there is only one loadcase - '1').
3. Click 'Go'!
You will see that Vulcan begins by 'building' the problem. Dependant upon the size of model you have generated (and the specifications of the computer used) this may take several minutes.
Next, the problem is solved. Vulcan moves through each time and loadstep in order, with the present status of the particular portion of the problem being shown in the 'Convergence' box. After every iteration, a new point is plotted. When the point lies below the bottom line of the box, that particular step has converged and Vulcan moves on to the next step.
Dependant upon the output specifications chosen, graphs will be generated to show the Forces, Displacements and Temperatures of certain sections of the model.
After the problem has finished analysing, the results are saved along with the model profile so that they may be used as necessary:
