Checking Beam Alignment
At this point all of the beams and columns have been assigned a specific section type. However, it may be the case that the alignments of these sections is not as required; columns need to be orientated correctly with respect to their longitudinal axis. In most cases it is simply necessary to ensure that the principal axes are correctly aligned with the connecting beams. It is wise to visually check the framework by turning on the rendered view:

To do this:
Press Ctrl+R on the keyboard or select the 'View | Render' option in the View toolbar.
It is evident from this view that there are several anomalies that we must correct before progressing further with the modelling and analysis. Specfically, these anomalies are:
1. The edge beams connect to the slab at mid-height and not above the top flange (which is usual).
2. The row of asymmetric columns are 180 degrees out of alignment.
