Defining UB Sections Contd...
Next, we wish to assign a different size UB to the central X-direction beam (356 x 171 x 51 UB), as shown below:
To do this:
1. The "Edit Section" tab of the "Properties | Beam Sections" dialogue box should already be open following the last round of section-type allocations. If this is not the case, reopen this window.
2. In the 'Number' drop-down box, select the beam-type '2'. This corresponds to the X-direction beams in the example.
3. Select the 'Type', 'Family' and 'Size' of beam required. In this instance, the options chosen are 'I Sections', 'UB' and '356 x 171 x 51' respectively.
4. If you wish all of the offsets to be updated (which we do), check the relevant box.
