Defining the Model - Select a Substructure


 

 

Firstly, we must determine how much of the structure needs to be modelled in order to accurately represent the fire performance of the structure as a whole.

 

The multi-storey project used in this design example is ideal as it has large areas which utilise a repetitive grid plan. This enables a manageable number of subframes to be analysed.
